Dopo il fortunato esordio discografico Employment tornano gli inglesi Kaiser Chiefs con Yours truly angry mob. In questo album i cinque di Leeds abbandonano in parte le sonorità elettroniche e le tastiere che avevano caratterizzato il primo lavoro dando al gruppo un'identità di ricchi figli di papà un po' insulsi e spensierati, per dare spazio al british-rock tipico dei primi anni '90 che richiama molto gli Oasis, i Blur o i Pulp. Le canzoni sembrano davvero scritte 15 anni fa con sonorità più ruvide e pezzi veloci che sfiorano il punk. Si parte con Ruby, buon primo singolo, motivo di facile presa che viene naturale canticchiare. Ottimo The Angry Mob e non male anche i due pezzi seguenti nonostante la ripetitività del chorus, there is quiet a bit 'boring with Love is not a competition and the excellent I can do without you. One of the best pieces is certainly Everything is average nowdays fast and immediate. Of note is my kind of guy, fast-paced that you remember. Other dragging in turning a mediocre album listenable, especially if you're a diehard pro-British, but that seems to never reach peaks of excellence. Hard to say whether this slight change is an attempt to gain or lack of ideas. If we look at the young age of the group and the difficulty of repeating after the huge success of onset, we could avoid to fail drastically and send them to the next bet to see the Kaiser Chiefs as an area cut out in the music scene.
